Pieta
'Pieta', is an original oil painting using traditional techniques but with my own style. The painting started as a Verdaccio, with green and white highlighting the shadows and the lights. The painting was then completed over many weeks, with layers of thin oil paint to give depth, form, and luminosity. Unlike traditional icon styling, I wanted Mary to be looking directly at the viewer.
